Adopt a Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat)

Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) Cat

Baxter the Cat needs a home

I’ve been waiting for my forever home since April 2017.

Baxter

came into foster care with two sisters and a brother at six weeks old. With a deep orange coloring, Baxter is majestic to look at and a joy to be around. He'll follow his humans from room to room and loves to be petted and held. He'

s very affectionate and loves to sleep on your lap while you work.  At night, he

sleeps right in the bed with you. While Baxter is more of the lazying-around-the house kind, he also loves an occasional play with the string toy.

This sweetie would make a great addition to a home that already has cats but would also do well on his own. We've never had him around small children, but his mild and sweet temper tells me he'd be a natural addition to a family with tiny humans.

**UPDATE: Baxter has a rib deformity pectus excavatum. This means that his chest
appears to be flat or concave, rather than slightly convex. We have had x-rays done and even tried to find him corrective surgery but we were told that it would be extremely unlikely that he would make it through surgery. Baxter runs around and plays like any young kitty does. He eats, plays, and sleeps like any normal cat does so doesn't act like he is bothered by it. We were suggested to allow him to live the way that he is if his quality of life seems to be good. Because we do not want to risk any problems with an un-neutered cat, we did have Baxter neutered. At the time of his neuter surgery, it was seen that he has a heart murmur as well. Many cats do live with heart murmurs and do fine but this also adds to his "special needs". We know it will take a very special person to over look all of this and to give him a loving home.

This kitty is currently located in a Foster Home of The

Cat Corner.

Applying to Adopt

Once you and your family have spent time with the cats in the adoption room and are ready to adopt, please visit the adoption section of our website:

thecatcornerinc.com/adopt

Our adoption process page will provide you with all of the information you need to know about adopting through our organization, including what to expect, what information we will require from you, and finding your purrfect match.

Thank You For Choosing to Adopt!!

As a no-kill rescue, we can only bring in and save more cats and kittens in need as our current cats and kittens are adopted. This is why we say that when you adopt one cat or kitten you are actually saving TWO lives! One is the current cat or kitten that you are adopting, the second is the one that we now have room to save and place into our safe shelter.
